Following his strong interest for algebraic specification languages and their efficient implementation, Jean-Pierre Jouannaud has contributed to the design, semantics and implementation of OBJ2 and has recently augmented the Maude rewriting logic system with an essential feature: membership equational logic. He was a member of the CNU (National University Council) and a member of the CNRS national committee. He is now heading with great success the computer science laboratory at the Ecole Polytechnique thus showing his exceptional qualities as a research team manager and supervisor of students.

The latest Caesar, Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris), is a scholar who has taken to the battlefield to repel a barbarian threat from Germania. To that end, he has invaded, relying upon the leadership and valor of his best general, Maximus (Russell Crowe), to win the day. Maximus does not disappoint, and the Emperor privately decides to name him as his successor - a decision that does not sit well with Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), Marcus' son. In a fit of rage and grief, he kills his father, then has Maximus taken away to be executed. The general, however, escapes death, slaying his would-be killers, then races home to protect his wife and son. But he is too late - by the time he arrives, they are both dead, and he is soon taken prisoner by slave-traders. Along with his new friend Juba (Djimon Hounsou), he is bought by Proximo (Oliver Reed), an owner and trainer of Gladiators. The latest Caesar, Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris), is a scholar who has taken to the battlefield to repel a barbarian threat from Germania. Maximus does not disappoint, and the Emperor privately decides to name him as his successor - a decision that does not sit well with Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), Marcus' son. In a fit of rage and grief, he kills his father, then has Maximus taken away to be executed. The general, however, escapes death, slaying his would-be killers, then races home to protect his wife and son. Gladiator weds the heroic scope of movies like Ben-Hur , Spartacus , Braveheart , and Rob Roy with the serpentine political treachery of I, Claudius . After reading Dr. Bob's Guide to ADHD and Dr. Bob's advice being instrumental to reversing my child's ADHD diagnosis, I had to know what else Dr. Bob had to share with us.
This book doesn't disappoint. I read it almost cover to cover in two days and then I read it again more slowly as the days went by. There is so much information in this book !
It is also a beautiful book - easy to read and so nicely laid out. Lots of room for notes, nice fonts, good spacing. I have trouble picking up a book day in and day out if it's not "fun on the eyes".

We even have used it to supplement our health curriculum in homeschooling our children and my children found it interesting. They looked forward to that part of the day. How awesome for all of us to see the Bible connection. It wasn't just health building - it is faith edifying.
I think what I love most about this book is that it's not just about "big diseases"... it's also about everyday ailments and things the world has given up on fixing (like grey hair!). And all the solutions are easy and easily attainable, IMHO. If there is to be something we need to avoid, Dr. Bob often recommends something to replace it (almond butter instead of peanut butter) so it's more about transitioning than depriving one's self. That makes it all so much more do-able !

They are joined by Ben (Jesse Eisenberg), the Harvard-educated nephew of a network executive who is in search of adventure and a good story. Together the three drive deep into Serb territory, facing more intrigue and danger than they ever could have imagined. Writer-director Richard Shepard (THE MATADOR) loosely based THE HUNTING PARTY on an article Scott Anderson wrote for Esquire magazine entitled "What I Did on My Summer Vacation," about five reporters who actually did go after Karadicz, and tried to capture him. Shepard infuses the film with a sly black humor and fills the story with a crazy cast of oddball characters, paying homage to Carol Reed's THE THIRD MAN, which was set in postwar Vienna. The three leads are excellent, especially Gere, who plays Hunt with a knowing grin that often hides what he's really up to. Shot on location in and around Sarajevo, lending the film an eerie reality, THE HUNTING PARTY--which claims at the beginning that "only the most ridiculous parts of this story are true"--is a fun, fascinating political thriller. ~ Rotten Tomatoes

Taking a different approach to Cooper's revered novel, THE SEEKER, actually drawn from the second book in THE DARK IS RISING sequence, will certainly raise the eyebrows of ardent fans of the series, particularly given screenwriter John Hodge's considerable alterations to the original story. (For example, Will is American instead of British.) For those unattached to Cooper's story, however, THE SEEKER will likely prove to be an enjoyable escapist film, with Conroy (SIX FEET UNDER), McShane (DEADWOOD), and Eccleston (HEROES) adding credibility to a largely unknown cast that is anchored by the likable Ludwig. The Sopranos is an award-winning American television drama series created by David Chase and originally broadcast on the HBO network. The Sopranos has been nominated for most Outstanding Drama Series every year of its run including 2007, its final season. James Gandolfini and Edie Falco have also been nominated every year but one and have also been nominated in 2007. After being nominated for and losing the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2003 (losing the first time to The Practice,then the latter three to The West Wing), The Sopranos finally won the award in 2004, and again in 2007, becoming the first and only cable series to win the award. RENDITION tackles serious issues with an all-star cast that also includes a typically flawless Meryl Streep as a steely government official responsible for approving Anwar’s kidnapping, and Peter Sarsgaard as old friend of Isabella who uses his political position to help her. RENDITION never delves too deeply into any one character, focusing instead on the important ways in which multiple storylines intersect and the personal stakes that each character has in the case. Clever editing and solid writing contribute to the film’s success by encouraging the audience to view events from multiple points of view and by never becoming preachy or one-sided.
